The Maru Dojo branch from Reghin started its activity on 01.03. 2007, being a subsidiary of the Romanian Foundation
of Aikido Aikikai (F.R.A.A). On that date it had four members, then slowly, in the months that followed the number of the ones interested in this has grown. In October 2007 we organized a demonstration with the help of our colleagues from Cluj who are instructors within F.R.A.A., and in March 2008 we organized a short regional stage with the participation of the Cluj and Baia Mare subsidiaries, these being the first notable events.
On the 26th of April our subsidiary hosted an event meant to celebrate 39 years from the death of the one who was the spiritual and founding father of Aikido. Here we watched a film dedicated to the great master and by Mrs.’ Dorinea Negrea kindness, teacher of origami, the children were delighted to learn about the mysteries of paper folding, eventually all the participants receiving t-shirts with the project initiated by F.R.A.A. ‘Discover Aikido’. (www.aikikai.ro) .In the period of 19-21 September 2008 the subsiadiary of Reghin organized a local training stage, having invited the president of F.R.A.A., sensei Dorin Marchiş 4 dan Aikikai, and other instructors namely some members of the Cluj, Baia Mare and Timişoara subsidiaries. As we wished for the Aikido to be better promoted in our region, we set up a non-profit sports organization, with a sporting and educational character. We obeyed all the dispositions of O.G. nr. 26/30.01.2000, for the associations and foundations. Therefore, on 22.04.2008 we became the Maru Do Aikikai Sports Association- Reghin, a private judicial person, member of the Romanian Foundation of Aikido Aikikai (www.aikikai.ro), which is officially recognized by Aikikai Hombu Dojo.
The purpose of the Association is to promote, to materially support and develop the practice and the study of Aikido in Mureş County as well as in Romania through the style created, practiced and sent to his Aikikai followers by the founding father. Moreover it supports the display of symposiums, conferences, demonstrations, cultural and sporting manifestations for Aikido in the country as well as abroad. It also sustains the publication of studies, articles and magazines referring to Aikido. In order to achieve the above mentioned goals, A. S. Maru Do Aikikai Reghin set the following objectives:
